Techie Cats- Twitter Chat #1

We did it!!! We had our first Techie Cats Twitter Chat! I've been pretty nervous about hosting my first chat, but I couldn't imagine a better group of people to join me for the first one.

The Hashtag

The hashtag we are using is #WISDstudentsfirst. Our district vision is "Above all, students first." We are striving to make sure that every decision, purchase, lesson, conversation, etc. puts students first.

The Questions

For this first chat, I asked four questions.

1. What is something positive from the first week that makes you "glad to be here"?

2. Explain what the vision means to you. How does saying "above all, students first" affect our practices?

3. How can we build empathy in our students?

4. "Technology will not replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of great teachers can be transformational." Why is it important to incorporate technology in our classrooms?

The Participants

Ashley Swinney, District Technology Integration Specialist

Lisa Schwartz, Principal at Brown Elementary

Wendie Turner, Media Technology Specialist at Stanton-Smith

Daphne Bolay, Teacher at Whitehouse High School
