Stop, Collaborate, and Listen: PLN 101

What is a PLN? PLN stands for "personal learning network". It is meant to be a network of relationships that educators develop by making connections and building relationships with people around the world. The PLN allows educators to ask and answer questions, share resources, discuss experiences, or even just talk about their day. PLN can be considered around the clock PD.

Why develop a PLN? Developing a PLN is one of the most important things that an educator can do. Being connected with other educators helps us to continue growing and learning. Your network of educators can help you get support, share resources, find new ideas, and even collaborate with others.

How do I get started? Use social media resources to begin. Start a Twitter account and find educators near you with accounts. Look through the Google+ Communities. Find Facebook groups. See out blogs or other websites from experts in the field. The best thing to to do is choose one and get started.
